What is Botox?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults. Multiple other areas and treatments are customized including the treatment of migraine headaches, hyperhidrosis, platysmal bands, etc.

How Does it Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet, which is the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Our physician will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity, which leaves you noticing visibly softer and smoother crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

What Can I Expect?

You can expect to look like you – only younger! You will meet with our physician to discuss your desired goals and together you will determine the appropriate areas and amount of product needed to achieve your goals. During your treatment, our physician will use the finest needle possible for your injection. Some patients report that the injection feels like a small pinch, however the discomfort typically subsides immediately following the treatment.

After the Treatment

Botox requires little to no downtime and actually is often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure,” as patients are able to go about their regular activities as soon as the treatment is complete. You may begin to see results in as little as 2 – 3 days and results last up to 4 months. Our physician will also counsel you in how to minimize the appearance of future wrinkles by modifying your everyday lifestyle, sleep routine, means of communication which should be more visual via hand gestures and the body with less focus on movements of the face.
